Who are we?
The Hull Medical Society has been bringing doctors and medical students together for well over 150 years.
A warm welcome from Dr Eman Shamsaee
President of the Hull Medical Society 2025-2026
Hello and welcome! We’re so glad you’ve found your way to the Hull Medical Society—a local charity dedicated to advancing medical science, health, and wellbeing through thought-provoking lectures, professional development opportunities, and supportive networking events.
Our mission is to bring together a vibrant community of medical students, doctors, allied healthcare professionals, and support staff from across the region. Whether you’re passionate about education, interested in holistic healthcare, or just looking to connect with like-minded people, there’s a place for you here.
This year, I've curated a programme that focuses on themes that impact everyone working in or alongside healthcare—including holistic medicine, creative arts in health, health justice, community initiatives, food as medicine, comedy, global health, and more. We want these talks to spark ideas, start conversations, and support your wellbeing - both personally and professionally.
Membership is free for students and resident doctors, and everyone is warmly welcome to join us at our events. Please do come along, say hello, and get involved. Your feedback, ideas, and energy help shape the future of our society - and I love meeting new faces!
Here’s to learning, connecting, and inspiring change - together.
